He will show a matrix framework that can be used to organize content from simple to complex ideas with ascending intellectual demand through use of Bloom’s taxonomy. In addition, this can be used to develop model lesson plans and tools for assessing student learning. He will also explain how a later, more in-depth three-day, hands-on summer workshop will help teachers take their own units, lessons and products and infuse them with the elements needed to make them appropriate for high ability learners and based on the Indiana Academic Standards. The one- day is a preview of what the summer curriculum writing workshop will focus on. The summer training will be held in Merrillville, Indiana from June 21-23, 2010. The summer workshop will also require teachers to bring a laptop computer. Each session/location listed below is limited to 80 participants. This is a free workshop sponsored by the Indiana (food will not be provided onsite based on the new Indiana grant regulations). Department of Education Office of High Ability Education and the Indiana Association of Education Service Centers. All materials are included in the registration. All workshops are scheduled from 8:30AM-3:00PM.
